Poster and abstract submissions: guidance and terms
We welcome research, clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement projects that demonstrate the value of pharmacy. Submissions are open to the whole pharmacy team, including students, trainees and multidisciplinary collaborators.
1. How to submit
Submit digitally up to one month before the conference date or the date of journal publication. Please provide:
- A clear title, author names, affiliations and corresponding author’s email address.
- An editable abstract of up to 300 words, excluding the title, authors, references and declarations.
- A single-page PDF poster, readable on screen, in portrait or landscape format.
You may submit an abstract initially, with the final poster supplied before publication. Structure the abstract under Background and aim, Methods, Results, and Conclusions and implications for pharmacy practice. Include key references in Vancouver style.
2. Review and acceptance
Submissions will undergo editorial review for relevance, clarity, methodological quality and integrity. Revisions may be requested. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. Work should present balanced findings, including limitations; promotional material will not be accepted.
3. Journal and online publication
Accepted work will appear as an abstract in the Pharmacy in Practice Journal and online, with a link to the full digital poster. Authors will approve the final abstract before publication. This is publication as a conference abstract; acceptance does not constitute endorsement of the findings by Pharmacy in Practice.
4. Author responsibilities
The submitting author must obtain approval from all co-authors and any necessary employer or rights-holder permissions. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of their work. Disclose any previous presentation or publication and ensure that further publication is permitted.
5. Ethics and confidentiality
State the project type and relevant ethical or organisational approvals, or explain why approval was not required. Audit and service evaluation must meet applicable local governance requirements. Submissions must not contain identifiable patient or participant information.
6. Funding and transparency
Declare funding, sponsorship and relevant conflicts of interest, or state that there are none. Describe any use of generative artificial intelligence in preparing the submission or conducting the work. Authors must verify all content.
7. Permission to publish
Copyright remains with the existing rights holder. By submitting, you confirm authority to grant Gen X Media Ltd, trading as Pharmacy in Practice, a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display and archive the accepted abstract and poster in the journal and online, with author attribution.
Author names and affiliations will be published. Contact details will not be published without permission.
8. Corrections and withdrawal
Notify Pharmacy in Practice promptly of errors or withdrawal requests. Requests received before publication will be honoured. After publication, corrections or retractions may be necessary; copies already distributed cannot be recalled.
By submitting, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
